July Beauty Favorites

Hey everyone! Another month has slipped past us and that means it's time for a little review of some of the products that I've been loving this month. I've seen many link ups for various other topics, but have yet to come across any monthly beauty favorites link up {correct me if I'm wrong}. So that being said, I'm going to have a link up here on my blog where every month {typically the last day of the month until the end of the first week of the next month, e.g. July 31st-Aug 7th} you can write a post about some of your favorite beauty products, link up here, and find some fabulous blogs as well as some awesome beauty products. Now it doesn't have to be limited to beauty products, but the main focus should include health/beauty products. I hope this is a great way for other bloggers to discover some new {and old} blogs and products! Without further adieu here are my July beauty faves.

1. Rimmel London fix & perfect pro primer

I've been looking for a quality & inexpensive face primer and had been using Revlon PhotoReady primer a while back, but I didn't like how the packaging of the product made it inconvenient for me. I still have some left in the bottle, but it won't come out with the pump. Well I'd been hearing a lot of buzz about Rimmel's face primer and so far I have been loving it {I've only been using it a week, but it gets the job done}.

2. Revlon colorburst lip butter in Peach Parfait

I had been wanting this lip butter since I first saw commercials for it. I never took the plunge and just got it until my mascara/lip gloss swap partner, Darby, included it in my gift. I am in love with the color and it's perfect to wear during the daytime or at night. I highly recommend snagging a couple of these lip butters!

3. Rimmel London glam eyes trio eye shadow

I think this eye shadow trio is perfect for creating a great smokey eye. The hues are pigmented and they stay on your eyelid for a long time. Plus on the back of the trio it shows you two different ways to wear the colors, subtle & London look, with pictures and how-to for shadow novices like myself. Great pick and very affordable!

4. Revlon Just Bitten lipstain + balm in Mystical

Lipstains are all the rage right now and this is another goody Darby sent me and I absolutely love it! The color is a darker purple-ish hue and definitely a night time look. I love how there is a clear balm on the opposite side of the stain too. Even though this color comes out a bit darker at first, it blends in and lightens up just a tad bit. Great stain with plenty of colors to choose from too!

5. Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion

I love this little guy! Before using the UD primer I had only used elf's lid primer and I still love my elf primer, but this little potion does not disappoint. I've noticed no creasing on my lid and very little fall out from the shadows. Love it and it's definitely a must grab for your makeup bag!

6. elf shine eraser oil blotting sheets

I picked this up recently and it has definitely come in handy during the heat wave we've been experiencing this past July. This little packet has 50 blotting sheets and it is a steal at only $1!! It works and it's cheap so if you want to get rid of the shine on your T-zone and have a more matte look, this is a must buy.

7. Rimmel London eye liner pencil in Panama

I have been reading about using a lighter shade eye liner on your bottom lash line if you want an easy way to brighten up your eyes and make them pop. So I bought this pencil in a chocolate brown shade and I love the way it comes out. You don't need to press down hard for the color to appear. It is definitely a fun new addition to my makeup bag.

Well I hope you guys enjoyed reading my favorite products in July and I can't wait to read yours as well! So grab the button and link up your post below!!

Recap of My Weekend

Hey all! So this weekend wasn't too busy for me, but it did fly by {doesn't every weekend seem to do that?!}

Friday, I did absolutely NOTHING all day and I loved it. I lounged around in my sweat shorts and cleaned a bit, but it was mostly my lazy day. I love being able to get days like those, especially Fridays. I also did a lot of blog stalking reading and watched a few movies. I was supposed to go out at night with my sister and a couple friends to a local bar and even got ready {makeup & all} until my sister {a} told me she lost her driver's license and {b} we found out there was a cover at this local bar and we refused to pay just to hang out there for a while. I was more than ok with taking all my makeup off and slipping back into my PJ's. Ended my lazy day by watching the entire Olympics opening ceremony and it was AH-MAZING. I loved all the work Danny Boyle put into the scenery and the acting. The Queen seemed bored, but I could easily take her place if she wants to for the closing ceremonies, call me Queen Liz :)!
Don't look too happy now Queen
Saturday, I woke up pretty early and got ready to hang out with my bestie {whose shower I was at last weekend} at the pool. We got a lot of sun and enjoyed some delish adult bevies. After we felt drier than prunes, we decided to head back into her condo and watch some TV before heading out to catch dinner, her soon to be hubby joined us and we went out to Flat Top Grill and if you haven't been there and have one near by, I highly recommend going there. It's a create your own stir-fry, but it's done a little different than other stir-fry places I've been to. After that we headed to this little candy shop that had probably any and every candy you could think up. I of course had to buy some mini gummy bears, mini sno caps, jujubes, and a ring pop. I would have bought more, but I remembered I needed to stay on budget this month and couldn't justify bags of candies. After all that fun, I headed home and called it a night.

{I was a bad blogger & didn't take any pix at dinner, sorry}

Sunday, this was another lazy day for me, however I did get a TON of cleaning and laundry done. My OCD side came out as well and I packed for my Vegas trip which isn't until the end of August. I am fully aware that it isn't even August yet, but hey I like to be organized and make sure I have everything I need. I have made a list and keep adding to it. I've even done a trial pack making sure all my crud fits into my one carry on. Yes, I am a freak and yes I am fully aware of this. My main reason for doing this is because I know I will become lazier as the month progresses and I am working a whole lot more this month and also starting school back up mid August {I know what your thinking, didn't you just finish, yes I did, but I don't get a very long "break"}. For these reasons I decided planning ahead and putting my stuff aside was a good idea now. Also as soon as I get back from Vegas I work the following 2 days and then I am off again to New York for 2 weeks so I need plenty of time to plan for that. If you think I packed a lot for a 5 day Vegas trip, I am scared to see what happens when I pack for a 2 week New York trip, however we are driving so it makes it easier to over pack!

My pre-pack for Vegas
Ok all, thanks for reading all my rambling above, if you made it this far I thank you!! Also be on the look out for a July favorites post this week as well as a little button swap intro post which will star the lovely ladies on my sidebar {some new, some old, all great!!}

Hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend, and I'm linking up with LeeannSami, and Dana!

3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Definitely a ballerina, or a princess. Which little girl didn't want this??

4. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Buy a great/comfortable pair of gym shoes, you will be doing a LOT of walking & standing on your feet. Also make sure you love what you're doing.
Definitely my fave pair, Reebok Realflex!!

5. What are your biggest pet peeves in life, blogging, or at work?
{}Slow drivers in the fast lanes
{}Lazy people at work
{}Know it all/snobby people

6. What are your biggest fears?
{}Spiders

Nail Files {7/27/12}

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday. I know I am! I'm going out to a local bar with some coworkers to celebrate birthdays and tomorrow am planning a pool day with my bestie. So I'm linking up with the lovely Vicki & Tara for another week of Nail Files.

So my new bloggy bff Darby had me for the mascara & lip gloss swap and she sent me some pretty awesome stuff. One of the amazing things she sent me was the prettiest "Cinderella" blue nail polish from Revlon. I am obsessed with this color and had a blast sporting it, and got a ton of compliments on the color. I also did an accent nail {love those} with my glitter polish that I have. Enjoy.

What color are you guys wearing this week?
Go & link up!!

P.S. I am super excited for the Olympics, already planned out the dates & times my faves are competing. Bring on 17 days of yummy boys USA pride!!!!

The Best Kind of Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! I know I said I was going to do some Bachelorette dishing, but I fell behind yesterday so I will combine it in this post along with some updates and other fun link ups.

So on The Bachelorette last night, it was the finale {as if you didn't know} and I am so so happy with the outcome. I really hope that Emily & Jef can make it last for a long long time. Has anyone else seen his super adorable pictures as of late? The hair has fixed itself!!

Major upgrade, but with all the sweet stuff he has been doing for Emily on the show, how can you not fall in love with him, hair and all. So I really did like the way she let Arie down in the show because it didn't put him through more heartbreak if he fell deeper for Emily. I don't think it did much for closure, but that's what After the Rose is all about.

So Jef's proposal was so sweet!!! I am in lurve with the ring too, Neil Lang never does disappoint does he?! If you missed that big rock, here's a pic:

I don't know how anyone could miss that ring, it's huge!!! So I really think at the After the Rose, Emily & Jef looked so in love. You can really sense there is some sort of connection with Jef that she just didn't have with Sean & Arie. I'm kind of upset they didn't announce who the next Bachelor will be, I thought that usually happened at the After the Rose, but oh well, I still really hope it's Sean, I will be sending my application to ABC if it is :)!!

Linked up with the beautiful {Anne} for this wonderful dish session, can't wait til next season!!

TheBacheloretteDish
So the next link up that I'm stuffing in this post is one that I saw on my bloggy bff Jenn's blog today. It's a little session of Truth & Dare. I thought this idea was so cute and I wanted to participate so here it is.

The prompt for this week:

Truth: If you had 24 hours left to live, how would you spend it?
OR
Dare: Post a photo or video of your bedroom as is. Tell us about what we see.

I've decided to do the dare, mainly because I had just cleaned today so my room is somewhat clean.

{1} Door to my room, yes I am a child and have my name on the door, don't hate :)
{2} You can see my bed, zebra print body pillow [love], part of my nightstand
{3} My couch, Bob Marley & Derrick Rose posters
{4} My makeup/getting ready area, pictures and other crap on my wall
{5} My closet, that part is slightly messy & I know I have a lot of laundry to do

So what did you guys think of my room?
It's still a work in progress, I have lots of crafts/diy projects to do.

Ok, so if you are still reading, know that I love you! The final link up I am gonna do today is Insta Tuesday with Jane @ Taingamala. This is the very first week of this fun link up & I apologize if some of you who follow me on Instagram already saw some of these.

{}Fro-yo is <3

{}Indian version of coke, so delicious!!

{}Photo a day August list, can't wait!

{}Waffle fries at work, yum

{}Holy carbs & oil

{}Cupcakes from my cake decorating class

{}Made mums from icing, and it actually looks legit

{}My mascara & lip gloss swap gift from the wonderful Darby @ Life with the Hawleys

Wow, so I am fully aware that I had a LOT of food pictures, what can I say, girl likes to eat!! What have you guys taken pictures of this week, go link up!!

Also I just wanted to update you guys about my grandfathers surgery, it went very well and he is now at home resting and recovering. Thank you to all of you who kept him in your thoughts and prayers, it meant so so much to me!! Come back tomorrow for some fun Pinterest pins!!
