Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon {Review}

Hey friends!! So a couple of weeks ago I got an email notifying me that I won a giveaway the beautiful Meg from Meg O. on the Go where I got 7   Butter London Bloody Brilliant lip crayons!! I was so thrilled because I never win the super cool giveaways like this and have been wanting to try out the new line. I definitely have my favorites (here if you checked out my favorite lippies post) and know there are some shades I just cannot pull off. Luckily I have friends and family that love wearing bold shades that look great on them so they will be getting those. Now let's just get into what the swatches look like!

{From Left > Right}

Tea with the Queen
Teddy Boy
Toff
Ruby Murray
Primrose Hill Picnic
Disco Biscuit
Trout Pout

I did try them all on just to get an idea of what looked good and what didnt, but I didnt photograph it and I didn't want to do that all over again. My biggest pro for these lippies is the fact that they have a sharpener right on the top of the lid!! It's so convenient and works out great!

If you are in the market for new lip crayons I definitely recommend picking these puppies up.

I was not compensated in any way by Butter London or anyone else, these are my honest and true opinions on the product.

Wedding Wednesday {Sweatin' For The Wedding}

Happy hump day lovies! Today is my Friday since I fly out tomorrow to spend an extended weekend with my fiance taking our engagement photos, please pray for nice weather and no blistering heat.

So ever since getting engaged, I've been a little more conscious of my exercise and eating habits. My eating habits may not change because I just love anything sweet and fried, but I know I need to do better at exercising some more.

I've never been a 3 hour at the gym type of person, I'm lucky if I'm there for an hour honestly, but I don't always like to head to the gym either especially during the summer. My absolute favorite exercise is walking, now it may not seem like much, but I do about a 4-5 mile walk and it's at a pretty fast rate. I throw some jogging in there depending on the tread, but mostly in bursts to get my heart rate up and maintain it for a bit.

I love finding different workout routines from one of my absolute favorite bloggers Amanda. I love getting inspiration and great workout ideas from her during her Friday Faves. Here are some of my favorites that I'll be adding to my workout routine!

Plank Series

The perfect travel workout you could do in the privacy of your own hotel room!

I love the varying workouts and they seem easy enough to do on a day that you can't get to a gym or go for a walk (or for days I'm too lazy to go out anywhere).

What are some of the workouts you guys are doing or have done? Any tips for brides sweating for the wedding?

Favorite Lippies

Hey lovers & friends! It's seriously been a hot minute since I've done any sort of makeup post and I was so excited to do this. I was busy packing away for yet another trip to Houston and was trying to pick what lipsticks must come with me and which ones can be passed up. It hit me that I should do a favorites list because a lot of these I either discovered wandering into Sephora, reading about it on a blog, or from getting my makeup done (at Sephora)...all roads lead to the holy grail place of makeup. So without further adieu, here are my top favorite lip products.

This is a big hit with me, I'm almost done with this color and know I'll be restocking this one. It's a classic color, not too dark and overpowering, but enough for a nice dinner out or even something in the day. The consistency of it is also really great, I love the matte look of it and like how you don't need a liner with it. The one qualm I have with it is the actual stick itself has fallen out a few times when I open it, but it goes right back into place.

Hikari Lipstick {Cabernet}

I got this lipstick in an Ipsy bag and love it. The red is so rich and looks super expensive, but only sells for $13! Love it when Ipsy sends me lip colors I actually will use, win!

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense

I got this lip color when I got my makeup done at Sephora for my friends wedding. The makeup artist used this on me and I loved the color. It's a great mauvy color that is neutral and looks great for practically any skin tone.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick {Patina}

I discovered this gem from either Pinterest or another beauty blog, I can't remember, but I'm glad I did. It literally lasts forever even with makeup wipes it is not easy coming off. It starts out as a gloss and evolves into a matte lipstain. This color is a bit out of the box for me, but it love it. Perfect for a date night lip.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm {Sultry}

This is another holy grail lip product. This is the second one I've gone through and I'll continue to buy it until they discontinue it. I love that this is so affordable and that it literally has great staying power for a drug store brand.

Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon {Teddy Boy}

Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon {Toff}

I got these 3 lip crayons from a giveaway I recently won. I absolutely love these 3 shades because they are definitely in my comfort level wheelhouse. I also love the fact that on top of all the crayons there is a sharpener right there.

What are you favorite lip products? I love getting new suggestions and add to my ever growing collection!

Wedding Wednesday {Save-The-Dates}

These days are just flying by and it's already the middle of August...get out of here. I can't believe how quickly this month has flown by and it's my 2nd week of Wedding Wednesday with the awesome Macy!

Last week I mentioned my engagement shoot coming up at the end of the month. I'm so excited for the pictures and even though I'll likely be sweating my face off in San Antonio, the sheer excitement of getting pictures that will be ours to cherish forever is just amazing.

The idea of save-the-dates is really great and I love receiving them from others, but originally I was completely opposed to doing them because I thought they were an added headache I didn't want to deal with. After some time, I kept seeing ideas of different save-the-dates and a little birdie inside my head just kept telling me that it's a good idea. So alas, we are having save-the-dates, but only sending them to close family and friends. My sister tipped me off to a site that actually has free save-the-dates where you can customize a bunch of different styles of cards and save it to your computer. I love that they are free to design because it'll save me money having to only have them printed and mailed out. You aren't even limited to just save-the-dates, there are tons of other printables that are free. Check them out on the Wedding Chicks website. Here are some of my favorites and I did a draft of it with old pictures of the fiance and I to get an idea of how it looks. The awesome thing is on some of them you can change up the colors and make it your wedding colors! Let me know what your top pick is in the comments below!

Lake Daze

You know those weekends that go down in the history books as an epic summer weekend? Well that was basically what my weekend looked like. First a shout out to one of my favorite bloggers and seriously the sweetest girl ever, Kate!!! Hope you have the happiest of birthdays :)!

Friday evening we took my gramps out for his 87th birthday and had a Mexican fiesta. I was in such a bad food coma that I fell asleep watching tv...the Mexican food struggle is real y'all.

Saturday my sis and I headed up to our friends lake house where we enjoyed a late night boat ride (and unnecessary stop to a bar in the middle of the lake, 80's night was not necessary) after ditching the bar and having a good old fashion dance party on the boat, we were pooped. We got back and slept to get up nice and early for the next day.

Sunday morning we woke up nice and early to head for breakfast at McDonald's, complete with boat docks to park the boat. After eating we headed out to the sandbar to anchor and hang out for the rest of the morning and afternoon. I got plenty of color, hello sunburn (I did practice safe sun tho)! We headed back towards a lake side restaurant to grab an early dinner before heading back. We cleaned up the lake house and left for the day. It was such a beautiful day and great company I couldn't have asked for a better weekend on the lake!!

I realized afterwards I barely took pictures which meant I was enjoying myself sort of technology free, I did send some snaps on snapchat if you're following me (npat62)!!

Linking up with Biana for weekending!!

Friday Faves

Woohoo it's Friday again!! I feel like I haven't linked up with my girl Amanda in a hot minute (p.s. have you checked out her new blog design, it looks awesome!!). Let's get on with my favorites from this past week (and the last few that I've been slighly MIA).

I won a giveaway from Meg a while back and when I got these pretties in the mail I was so excited to try them out. Some of the colors are a bit bold on me, but my sister gladly took some. I have my favorites and will do a post on them in the near future.

I'm starting back up to train for a 15k that I want to run in November. I'ts been a rough start with some shin splints, but running and jogging has felt great and with recent health scares it assured me that I needed to be back on an exercise regimen that kept me healthy.

These diet snapple singles are so awesome and taste delicious. Run don't walk to grab these suckers!

My amazing baby sister got me the cutest Kate Spade bag for my birthday and I'm in love y'all. It's the perfect size bag for everything and holds all my junk, which reminds me maybe I should do a post on what I keep in my bag...penciling that in now.

Lastly, I bought the Sally Hansen Gel Polish Starter Kit because I was curious at how and if this works. I'll be back reporting on how long the manicure lasts because it claims the manicure is supposed to last 2 weeks.

What are your faves this Friday?

Wedding Wednesday {Engagement Shoot}

Happy Wedding Wednesday & hump day lovies! I know I've been super MIA lately, but had some health scares come up over the last weekend, thank god I'm ok and it was nothing serious, but definitely a scary experience. I may touch on it some more later, but let's get onto today's post.

This is my first solo Wedding Wednesday with just Macy & I. I'm super excited to see all your posts and get inspired as I plan!

So in less than 20 days A & I are getting our engagement photos taken. I'm so excited because we are working with the amazing photographer who was there to capture the proposal. He is such a great photographer and very easy to get along with, so we knew without a doubt that we wanted to book him for the engagement shoot. This also means we will be heading down to San Antonio for the shoot. I love that city even more than before because it holds such a special place in my heart since we got engaged. I love the old city feel and architecture and since our photographer knows the city well, I know our pictures will turn out amazing.

Of course I've been scouring Pinterest for engagement shoot inspiration, even though I fully trust my photographer I know there are certain shots that I would love to do. I finally decided on what I'll be wearing to the shoot and I can't wait.

The first outfit is this gorgeous blush pink hi-low maxi dress I picked up from Nordies paired with a skinny gold glitter belt from Target and my new favorite pair of shoes these Steve Madden sandrina heels.  I love how girly and romantic this outfit is and know pictures will look great with it.

The second outfit is our "fun" outfit. We are both sports fans (me- basketball & him- soccer) and we wanted to incorporate our love of sports in the pictures. We also made it so the shirts/jersey we are wearing have our wedding date on it (him-7 & me-16) since we want to use one of the pictures for a save the date. I paired the shirt with white jean leggings (with nice stretch to them) & my white sperry's.

Here is some of the inspiration I've gotten from Pinterest for our shoot.

Tell me about your engagement shoot. Did you have one? Any tips or suggestions you could give me for ours?

Wedding Wednesday {We Have A Venue!!!}

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Sadly, this is Meg's very last post for Wedding Wednesday and she is so kindly passing her torch onto me. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I feel like this is such a privilege because I've never had a link-up and think this one is pretty awesome. I love the community it has built and will continue to build as more bloggers get engaged/married/etc this is the perfect avenue to post in. Even if you are planning your dream wedding, but aren't engaged or are already married and want to post some tips or something fun that you loved from your wedding, go for it!!!

I have other semi exciting news, WE HAVE A VENUE!!!

We kinda had one a few weeks back, but we didn't sign anything confirming anything because we still wanted to shop around. This place is not my dream location, but it was seriously affordable and since our parents are paying for most of the wedding I want to make sure to go easy on the budget. Here are a few images of our venue:

I'm really excited because my decorator is really great and I know he can transform this room to look like my dream wedding.

Where did you get married? Any specific reason why the venue was chosen? Link up with MegMacy & I for Wedding Wednesday!
