Friday Favorites

Hi lovies! I've been a little MIA on this here blog, but a lot has been going on. Between planning my friend's bridal shower and heading to Houston for the long weekend, it's been hard to sit down and pump out a blog post or two. Now since I finally have a minute to breath I wanted to join Amanda for Friday favorites. She just recently got back from Greece for her honeymoon and her pictures are seriously swoon worthy, I'm not sure how she got back on a plane after being in such a breathtaking place. Anywho onto today's post.

Favorite Song

Not sure what the weird gorilla's are, but this was our favorite song during our roadtrip to San Antonio last weekend.

Don't worry I'll be doing a full recap of my trip, if you missed it on Instagram....

I'm engaged!!!!!!!

Again more to come in a full post, but this leads to the next favorite...

Favorite moment

It was seriously the best proposal I could have ever asked for and I can't wait to share all the details and pictures with y'all.

Favorite funnies

Happens more often than I'd like to admit...

I'll leave it at that for today. I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing weekend!!

Weekending

Hey folks! This weekend was so necessary and I took full advantage of having zero plans considering the next few weekends are jam packed. I spent Saturday sleeping in (only until 9am, but considering I wake up at 6 am regularly this is sleeping in for me) and then my sissy and I headed to the movies to get pitch slapped and watch Pitch Perfect 2. It was so good and I'm so glad I had the chance to watch it. I do wish they had more singing in there, but the story had a chance to develop some more which I loved.

Sunday I was on call at work and had to head in for a few hours. I spent the rest of the day doing some major laundry and cleaning. It felt really nice to have the smell of laundry in the house and most importantly have freshly washed clothes! I also did most of my packing for my Houston trip on Saturday!!! I'm so excited to get to see A again during Memorial Day Weekend and even though the weather doesn't look that promising in Houston and San Antonio, we will make the most of it.

That evening was the Billboard Music Awards and if you missed it, you have to just check out Taylor Swift's new music video for Bad Blood. It was action packed and filled with stars, definitely worth the anticipation and build up for it.

John Legend performed with Meghan Trainor and it was chilling how great the performance was. I didn't care much for Britney Spears and Iggy though, I am already annoyed with their dumb song Pretty Girls. Molly Ringwald introduced The Simple Minds who sang that iconic Don't You Forget About Me from the 80s hit Breakfast Club. It was such a great tribute to the 30th anniversary of the movie. Ben E. King who sang Stand by Me got an awesome tribute as well from Imagine Dragons and that was an amazing performance. Everyone in the audience was on their feet singing along. The third best tribute was Wiz Khalifa singing See You Again which is a tribute song to Paul Walker and the Fast and the Furious franchise. I think Wiz was a little wild, but the performance was great!

Here are my favorite looks on the red carpet from the night.

I mean Taylor really never looks bad on the red carpet, she could wear a garbage bag and somehow still look awesome in it.

J-lo is definitely trying to show that she still has it even though she's in her 40s. This dress looks absolutely fabulous on her and she pulls it off flawlessly.

Zendaya is actually a surprise pick for me. I wasn't sure about this at first, but I started to really like it after a while. Her shoes are pretty amazing and she chose a perfect red carpet for an outfit this bold. Her hair, makeup, and jewelry look on point too which ties the whole look together.

Hot couple alert. These 2 are so stinkin' adorable and they always look so fabulous so I had to give them a little shout out.

What were your favorite moments or looks from last night's awards? Linking up with the beautiful Biana for weekending!

Wanderlust Wednesday: Las Vegas Edition

This link up with Kate, Emily, & Kerricouldn't have come at a more perfect time considering I just got back from Vegas on Sunday (and I'm still riding the struggle bus 3 days later). I went out there for my best friend's bachelorette party and let's just say, Vegas kicked my butt.
*Warning picture heavy post*
We flew out Thursday evening and landed in Vegas around 10:30 pm, but this didn't prevent us from getting ready to head out for the night. We were staying at The Venetian so we stayed in our hotel and went to Tao. It was a really fun atmosphere with great music until we left at about 2:30 am, I haven't had a late night out like that in what feels like years!

On Friday we woke up (slowly and painfully, but hangover free) to get ready to head out to brunch at Hash House a Go Go. The food was amazing and I definitly recommend checking it out if you have one near by. I ordered the Tractor driver combo which was eggs, potatoes, and quite possibly the biggest pancake I've ever had in my life, like no joke I got barely 1/4 through with the thing.

When we were thoroughly stuffed, we headed to our Stripper 101 class at Planet Hollywood. This was such a fun activity, especially for a bachelorette party, but I definitely recommend doing it even as a girls night. Our instructor was really great and has perfected her skill, and let me tell you that you need some serious skills and muscles to do what she was doing. We learned the basic stuff, but it was a ton of fun and such a fantastic workout, we're talking sore for a week afterwards...this clearly means I need to get my butt to the gym. Since we were at Planet Hollywood already we decided to walk around to the different shops and slowly make our way back to The Venetian to get ready for dinner.

We made reservations at Buddy V's restaurant inside The Venetian and if you're wondering who Buddy V is you may recognize him as the Cake Boss from TLC. The food was pretty good, but the service could have honestly been better. I felt we were underserved considering we were a large group of girls (12 in total) and we were celebrating a special night, but that's beside the point.

After dinner, we made our way to Excalibur to see Thunder from Down Under. Now I had seen this show the last time I was in Vegas and it was probably better than the first time just because of where we were seated. We were smack dab in the front of the stage so we got to see a lot of the action. It was quite a show and all of us girls left there laughing and smiling big. They did introduce one of the newest members of the show that night and even let us take pictures for 30 seconds (no photo/video is allowed during the show)...this guy was definitey a good looking guy. After Thunder, we headed out to Omnia Nightclub to try to get in to see Calvin Harris, but the line was ridiculously long and we decided to call it and go back to the hotel to play some fun bachelorette party games. I'm so glad we did this because we all got to bond and have a grown up slumber party.

On Saturday we woke up bright and early (which was fine with me because I woke up to winning $100 off my Chicago Bulls bet from the night before).

After we were all ready to go we headed over to Caesar's Palace to have breakfast at Serendipity 3. The food was pretty awesome, but rushed since we had to head to SLS to meet up for our pool crawl.

Our pool crawl was such a fun time and the first pool we were at was definitely my favorite. We started the crawl out at the beach club at the SLS, FoxTail. It wasn't packed at all because it was still pretty early, but we ended up getting a cabana for free to hang out in poolside. Before we knew it, we had to head out to the next stop on the crawl, the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. They had a fun party bus filled with some awesome partygoers, which made the experience even more fun. After snapping pictures at the sign, we headed to the second pool on the crawl. This pool was kind of a bust and we decided to just call it and head over to the party at Wet Republic after hearing about Krewella being there. The pool party was super packed, but a lot of fun. When we decided that we were well and pruny, we headed to The Cosmo to grab some secret pizza. This pizza is pretty awesome and if you have the chance to go there, GO!

We went back to the hotel to shower and get ready for the night. Some of the girls were flying out that night so they all got ready to head out and we got ready to head to Encore to see David Guetta. This was definitely a once in a lifetime experience because I will never do that again. It was an awesome show and all, but the crowd was just too insane and being stone cold sober didn't make the situation better. We stayed until about 2 am and headed back to our hotel to sleep.

Sunday we woke up much slower because we didn't have anything planned. We had a late afternoon flight so we decided to get some more pool time in. We didn't want to do anymore pool parties so we decided since it was the nicest day to hang by the hotel pool. I was excited because this is when I got all my tanning in, and I only had to lay out for about 45 minutes to get it. After packing up all of our stuff, it was time to head to the airport to go back to reality. Our flight ended up getting delayed by 2 hours because of the storms in Dallas so we didn't touchdown in Chicago until 11 pm. Let's just say having to go into work the next day was not the least bit fun and I still haven't gotten used to the time difference.

Hello...

Hi, my name is Nikki and I royally (but not as royal as the new princess Charlotte) suck at blogging. Ever since getting back from Houston, my work schedule has been hectic. We are rolling out a brand new software and it has everyone going up in arms. Besides that I had been fighting the flu/sore throat/cough for two weeks which made any free time go towards sleep. I'm actually excited for this week because I'll be in Vegas on Thursday for my bestie's bachelorette party!! If you want to follow along on shenanigans, follow me on Instagram (shamless plug).

It was my momma's birthday a few weeks ago and we took her for dinner to On The Border and it was fantastic!

We then of course had to go to Red Mango for dessert and let me just say their watermelon froyo with baby gummy bears was the best decision I made in a long time!

A new pizza place opened up nearby and my girlfriends and I decided to check it out, it's a chipotle style ordering system and the pizza was so delicious!! If you have a Pie Five near you, check it out!

I finally got these babies and I couldn't be happier with them! I'm gonna break them in big time walking around in Las Vegas this coming weekend!

A pampering spa day with my girls was just what the doctor ordered to get my body back and I'm gear for Vegas on Thursday! I can't wait to get nice and tan because God knows my pale winter skin needs it baaaaad! The owner of the salon was such a doll and got all of us girls champagne with strawberry & raspberry garnishes!

I can't wait for a fun girls vaca to start the celebration for my bestie's upcoming wedding! Vegas is gonna be an interesting time since my body doesn't know how to hang anymore, but I seriously know I will have such a blast with the group of girls with all the fun bachelorette shenanigans we're gonna get into.

I'll leave y'all with this cute pic of the boy and I from our "engagement ceremony" (we're not officially engaged, but just our families basically making us offish).
