Is It Too Early For A Wish List??

I had been thinking of a good enough blog post for today, but was stuck on this one topic. Wish Lists. I thought it may be too early to get a list compiled, but Thanksgiving is this week and that means Christmas is going to be here before we know it. The month of December is going to be insane and jam-packed so I figured what the heck. If you love me and want to get me any of these items, I'll love you forever and send you the shipping location :)!

1. Chicago Bears Jersey (B.Marshall or J.Peppers)

4. Naked3 Palette by Urban Decay (Even though they are sold out, I will buy this for myself when this comes back in stock!!)

8. Agent 18 slimshield LTD iPhone 4S case (In Vintage Floral)

9. Yankee Candle Snowflake Cookie (or any Holiday scent, love all of em)

It was kind of hard to pick some gifts, of course there are the biggies, but these are things that I definitely want/need in the near future. I seriously NEED the Naked3 palette, the colors are just absolutely perfect and I hope it comes in stock soon! Some of these are kind of far fetched and just on my dream list, but hey you never go I could come into money doubtful and be able to buy myself all 10 of these items!!

What are some of the items on your wish list?

Mondays Suck, Here's A Weekend Recap!

Yet another Monday is upon us, but luckily this is a super short work week for me and for many others (I feel horrible for the people who have to work on Thanksgiving because places decided it's better to make money instead of letting them hang with their families.) I will be shopping on black Friday to finish up my Christmas shopping list, only hitting up Target because let's face it I can find everything there! So I had every intention of writing up a blog post on Friday, but I was hosting a surprise birthday party with my sister for her friend and got caught up baking and decorating the house before guests arrived. Instead, I'll just recap the events of the party and the rest of my weekend!

Thursday
I'm including Thursday because my weekend started early this week. I had a Cardiology dinner put on by the cardiologists that work for the hospital I work at and it was great. I then headed out to the movies to meet my sister up to watch Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Let me just say I absolutely LOVED this movie. I cannot wait until the next movie is out. Some people complained about JLaw's performance being stale like KStew, but I digress, she was awesome as always!! If you haven't seen it already then I highly suggest you go out and watch it, ASAP!

Friday
After my class in the morning, I came home and tried to get any baking and setting up I could get done. I had pretty much done nothing to set up for the party so I had to haul ass and get to all the projects I had in mind. The birthday girl loves tiffany blue so we decided on tiffany blue boxed party favors with candy inside. The only problem with this idea was that I had to assemble all 20 boxes and make the ribbon bows for the favors, then hot glue gun the bows to the box. Then I had to run out and pick up the Jimmy Johns sandwiches we had ordered and come back to start my clean up and decorating. It was during this time where I thought I'd be ambitious and type up a blog post, unfortunately this didn't happen. I got all the decor and we had everyone show up right before the birthday girl was to show up and the surprise worked out perfectly, she had no idea this was going on and was so shocked that we did all this for her.

Saturday
Saturday was a bore fest, I did nothing blog worthy except a ton of homework. Again, uneventful.

Sunday
In the afternoon I went to a bridal expo with my bestie (and bride-to-be) to check out some vendors and get any new ideas. Plus the free swag and yummy treats didn't hurt. After spending a few hours at the expo, we headed to Crate & Barrel to do some of her registry list. This was the very first time either of us had done something like this and boy was it overwhelming. I didn't realize how much stuff you needed and all the different options there were. Thankfully, I learned a lot and we got the majority of the stuff scanned and sitting pretty on her registry list for her loved ones to gift her. If you've done wedding registry's, any tips or tricks to pass onto her?! After that I headed to Target with her to do some returning and some shopping, I picked up a cute chevron dress and other little necessary items and came home to binge watch Lifetime holiday movies the rest of the night.

Brochures from a few vendors at the bridal expo

Picked up the Crate & Barrel holiday catalog while I was in there.

Chevron dress from Target, thoughts?!

Oo I also did book my tickets to Denver, CO for the end of January to visit my older cousin and her kiddos for a week. I am super excited because I've never been and can't wait to see what Colorado has to offer. Any suggestions on places to visit or eat at while I'm there?!

Ahh, Jan 23rd cannot get here soon enough!!!

So what were you lovelies up to this weekend?!? Any exciting plans for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday or any must shop places for black Friday?! I'm linking up with Sami @ Sami's Shenanigans for Weekend Shenanigans and I think you should too!!

Recent Beauty Finds

You know what day it is??? HUMP DAY!!! That darn camel from the Geico commercial always comes to my mind on Wednesdays. So I wanted to go back to my beauty roots in today's post and talk to you guys about some things that I recently picked up from Sephora and Ulta.

{} Moroccan Argan Oil
I got this hair treatment because I wanted to start using a regular hair mask and know the Organix line is great, plus it smells awesome! I'll report back how it works on my hair.

{} Benefit Fake Up Crease-Control Hydrating Concealer
I had been in the market for a new go-to concealer and so when I went to Sephora and they suggested this gem, I bought it right away. I haven't gotten to use it yet, but the girl tried it out on me at Sephora and I noticed a huge difference already. I got the Medium shade (they have light, medium, and dark) which is a few shades lighter than my normal foundation so it gives my under eyes a nice glow. Also a huge plus is this is crease-controlling so thats huge!!

{} NYX Eye/Eybrow Pencil in Black
I have slowly been running out of my favorite eye liner pencil and needed to pick one up asap, I've never tried this one, but the NYX brand is affordable and works pretty well from my use of other products. I picked up 2 at Ulta because it was buy 1 get 1 50%, so why not!

{} EcoTools Airbrush Concealer Brush
I absolutely love the ecoTools brand because the bristles are so soft on my skin. I needed a proper concealer brush to help buff the concealer into my skin and this brush is nice because it's small, but it's pretty dense.

{} Loreal Taste of Romance (dusty pink)
I love this color, I can never have too many pink shades of polish because I wear them so often. This is such a soft pink, but I am excited to try it out and show you guys how it looks!

{} Loreal Greycian Goddess (light grey)
Gray or Grey, this shade is something that has been missing from my collection and I'm so excited to try it out. The name alone got me hooked and I had to have it. I have other darker greys, but this one is def going to be used a lot!

{} Essie Sole Mate
Being a lover of Essie I wanted to pick up a perfect fall/winter color and this deep red was perfect. Not only is the name adorable, but the shade is pretty awesome. I'm excited to try this one out too. Definitely gonna change up my nail color a lot in the coming weeks.

I am so happy and excited to try out my new beauty goodies. I wanted to get more, but the thought of Christmas gifts crossed my mind and my wallet slowly went back in my purse. Have you guys picked up anything lately that's a must try, I'm always looking for suggestions and new products!!

P.S. Today is an awesome bloggers birthday, Happy birthday Steph @ Not Entirely Perfect. Hope you have an awesome day, and I'd appreciate all of you readers to hop on over to her blog and wish her a happy birthday (plus you can find out how to score some freebies for your birthday!!)

Weekend Happenings

Happy Monday all! I typed Friday 2 times before Monday wanted to show up, my b is it Friday yet?! Well another weekend has vanished quickly and the work week has started up again, I cannot believe how close Thanksgiving is already!! Let's see what I was up to this weekend....

Friday:
My sister and I had gotten a groupon to attend America's Baking & Sweets Show which is a huge deal in the baking industry, but I just wanted to go to discover some new dessert shops and get samples. It was much different than I thought it was going to be, but a lot of fun. The theme of this year was Alice in Wonderland and since this was the first day of the show, all the shops were set up with their sample trays and displays. There was also competition cakes for 2 different themes, the first being Alice in Wonderland cakes and the second being wedding cakes.

Another awesome thing that happened at the Baking Show was I got to meet and take a picture with Kathy Wakile from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. She is such a nice person and interacted with the fans and took pictures with everyone that asked. I don't consider her a "celeb", but she's on TV so she is famous!

Friday night, my friend who is in my eyes a really good makeup artist (not professional or anything, but she's working towards that) asked if she could play around with my face and do a possible bridesmaids look (this is also my bestie who is getting married next July). I think she did a pretty awesome job on my makeup and so of course I had to Instagram it and tell y'all about it today.

Saturday:
Saturday was pretty uneventful, I went to the mall and picked up some gifts off of my list for my boss and family members, but man I hope I don't have to go back anytime during the holiday season. The lines and crowds were insane and I forgot how much I don't like waiting around for things. Online shopping and Target will be my saving grace for the rest of my gifts! I did find a super cute LBD at JCPenny for only $20, so that was a super plus!!!

Sunday:
Again a pretty uneventful day mostly because of this super storm that took place in the Chicagoland area. The winds and rain storms were insane!! I had to unfortunately go into work because I was on call, but luckily got home before the storm really started. Southern Illinois got hit really bad with tornados, but by me there were just crazy winds (living up to our Windy City name) and tons of rain causing flooding everywhere. The Bears football game was just hard to watch after the almost 2 hour weather delay, the field was went and players just kept sliding around everywhere.

This picture of my nephew made my Sunday much better to tolerate though, how could this face not make you happy?!

One more tidbit before I wrap up this post. When I blogged regularly I used to love doing swaps and when I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Party of One I came across a Secret Santa Swap, I was all in. I signed up right on her blog and filled out the google doc so if you want in, hurry and fill it out the last day to sign up for it is November 21st!!

Revival

Any makeupHER readers even left here?!? I have seriously missed the blogging world SO much more than I had anticipated to. My life has finally slowed down (a little) and allowed me to get back into reading blogs regularly again and I realized how much I've been missing updating anyone on my life (if anyone is even reading this lol). I think I am just going to use my blog as an outlet to write about my life and keep up with some of my favorite blogs (which I have been reading during my absence), but I won't put much into sponsoring and all of that, my favorite blogs will still be shown on my sidebar, but it's only because I love reading their blogs not because they are paying me to put their blog button on the sidebar.

So, you might be asking yourself what the heck has this girl been up to lately? Or maybe you just forgot about me, regardless I'm back and hopefully to stay this time. Since I last posted (March 2013!!!) a TON has happened in my life. I will recap the fun stuff to not bore y'all to death, sound good?!

I left y'all kinda hanging with me leaving for my friends' bachelorette party weekend and a normal person would have assumed I just didn't make it through the weekend, but if you follow me on Instagram you know I am in fact still alive. My friends' bachelorette party weekend was awesome and such a blast, since then she has gotten married and my best friend got engaged!!! Since pictures speak more to me, here's my life in pictures from March 2013-present day.

^These are unfortunately the only pictures that a. I have on my comp/facebook or b. are appropriate enough to show on a public blog. It was a weekend of drinking, fun, being girls, and sometimes getting too rowdy.

Now, I mentioned a little earlier how my best friend got engaged and it just so happened that I was very prevalent in the planning and execution of the whole ordeal which was the absolute best! I helped her fiance pick out her dream ring and plan the most amazing proposal. Here are some pics....
^Us girls before the big proposal.

^Yay my best friends are engaged (and looking real good doing it)!

^Gorgeous oval Tacori ring!

^Celebratory dinner!

The next big thing was my cousin's wedding in New Jersey where I got to see my awesome family and meet my new nephew for the very first time.

^The gorgeous girls in my family.

^Me holding my nephew Devan, such a sweet baby!!

^With the original goober, Shan (he looks upset, but he was having a blast taking pictures with me).

^At the reception with my cousins, looking quite dapper I must say.

^Final picture of such a fun wedding, all the cousins together again!!

June brought such a busy month for me, my friend's bridal shower and wedding were in the same month, so that pretty much kept my busy.

^Us with the bride-to-be.

^Few of us girls with the bride-to-be.

^Pre-wedding festivities.

^Pretty much the start to a great weekend.

^The only picture I have from the actual wedding, but here I am with the gorgeous bride & groom.

^My BFF & I.

^My favorite couple!

^Girls!

^Pre-photo booth craziness.

The next huge thing was my best friends engagement party which was held in New Jersey. A few months prior she had asked me if I would emcee her party with her fiance's best friend. I was super nervous, but knew that this was a huge honor and all my planning and practicing seemed to pay off, plus I had a great co-emcee! Here are just a fraction of the pictures from that weekend (it was July 4th weekend so BBQ's were had and beers were drank).

^At the 4th of July BBQ.

^My gorgeous BFF & I.

^First of many cheers that weekend.

^Some fun with sparklers!

^Popping the question to the bridesmaids with an adorable scrabble ring.

^Our girls flashing our new bling.

^Friends!

^My beautiful date for the night.

^Our opening emcee dance sequence.

^My funny co-emcee, wouldn't have been able to be up there without him.

^Best emcee's out there (IMO).

The final big story in my life was my 25th birthday at the end of August. I have such amazing friends and family who helped make this big year the best yet! My only request was that we go out somewhere with a rooftop and my friends totally delivered! Here is a recap of my birthday shenanigans.

^We went to Dick's Last Resort where they make you wear these hideously embarrassing dunce hats, mine said I got my outfit from the trash, whatevs, I rocked my dress!

^My awesome cousins got me a "how to survive your mid-20's" kit.

^My best friend got me my very first Kate Spade wallet and I thought I went to heaven, love her!

^My pretty BFF.

^It's always a fun time with this guy around!

^Favorite couple of the decade!

^My gorgeous BFF & I.

^God damn, my friends are hot!

^My pretty sisters & I.

^All the amazing girls in my life came out to celebrate my 25th!

Now I leave you with a final picture, my best friend and her fiance had their engagement photo shoot and I accompanied them for fun in the city. I even got to be in a few shots, this is my absolute favorite pic of us 3 (even though our faces aren't in it).
