OHP: Wedding Edition

Happy hump day lovers! I think if a person knows anything about me it has to be that I am a hopeless romantic and I love love! I am always looking forward to wedding season {typically for Indian weddings that's anywhere from May-August}. I have 3 weddings to already go to this year and I cannot wait for each one because I get to create special memories with different people at each one! I think it is an understatement when I say wedding things on Pinterest are my favorite {next to hilarious ecards that is} and I cannot wait to one day plan my own wedding! Every detail and aspect of a wedding is so intricate {especially with Indian weddings} and although it is a TON of work, I know in the end it is all worth it when you see your dreams coming to life at the end. Here are my absolute favorite pins about wedding related things!!

Jenn and I have gotten really close through blogging and I consider her a bloggy BFF. She is as sweet as can be and we are both in the same boat being single & kid-less bloggers {not that I don't love those bloggers}, but we have at on in common because of that and I know I can count her on as a friend! 

Robin @ The Sunshine Diary

Robin is such a sweetheart and I enjoy reading about her adventures in sunny Florida. She has gotten to travel to some pretty incredible places, which I am uber jealous about. She's a Florida transplant from New York {my 2nd favorite state} and she totally belongs in the south. Living with her awesome boyfriend and exploring the sunshine state, she blogs from the heart and that's my favorite thing about her!

Stephanie @ Bourbon and Glitter

Steph is a doll and is even cooler because she lives in the same city as me! I am determined to meet up with her sometime this year because if you read her blog, you know that she's the bomb.com. Her awesome cupcake cocktail recipes will make your mouth drool and she has the cutest pup, Hawkeye, who is so cool she even has her own twitter. Follow her here.

I'm thrilled to have gotten to know Kate through blogging. She is so sweet and down to earth and I know we would be friends if we lived in the same state. She's another Floridian, making me jealous with the beautiful pictures of sunny skies during our cold and snowy Chicago winters and I'm also jealous of all her awesome travels. I can only hope to travel to all the cool places she's been to.

Isn't she gorgeous, plus her dog Lily is such a doll!! I absolutely love how real and genuine Sami is on her blog. She talks about everyday problems in a single girls life and I can so easily relate to her. Plus she has awesome fashion sense and I could only dream I had her eye for fashion. She also has the best GIFs to go along with what she talks about and I laugh at every single one of them. Oh, did you also know she is basically married to Gavin DeGraw, I know right, lucky her!!

Chris @ Chubbette Tales...Life after Spanx

I have had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Chris at Blogger Blitz Chicago last summer and am so glad I did. Not only is she awesome because she lives in Chicago, but her blog is a favorite of mine. She has got some incredible taste in jewelry and handbags and am super jealous of her collection. She is such a sweetheart and is so real on her blog!

I also met Erin at Blogger Blitz Chicago {yes you can officially be jealous}. She is awesome and soooo nice!! If it weren't for her I wouldn't have even known about the incredible Blogger Blitz event. If you aren't following her, what's wrong with you?! It's clear she is awesome because she won the top spot on the poll Helene conducted for best bloggers of 2012. Go check out her awkward self portrait shots {which she looks incredible in} and her rants about life, she really is inspiring!

One word to describe this gal, HILARIOUS!! Her posts are always making me laugh and she is so real and easy to relate to. Not to mention when she had a foot injury, she rocked the socks off her boot and crutches!! Anytime I need a mid-day pick me up, I turn to her blog for some funnies. 

Raven @ Don't Quote The Raven

Raven is beyond awesome!! I love all her posts and how shes raw and doesn't care what people think of her and if she offends anyone {I don't think she does}. She has an awesome sense of humor and a set of adorable baby boys!! She also takes many trips to Hawaii so I'm obviously jealous of that fact alone. If you don't follow Raven's blog, you my friend, don't know what the word hilarious really means.

Of course I read plenty of other blogs, all 100+, so it was extra hard to pick only 9 that I love. These are the constant bloggers that I turn to see if they have a new post and am always excited to read about. Some of them I'm close with and others are just celebrity bloggers in my eyes and am blessed to just be able to read about their lives. Whatever the case, they help me get through the day by reading about theirs.

A-Z's of Nikki

Hey friends! I had seen this floating around in the blog world lately and seeing it today on my bloggy BFF Jenn's blog, I figured I would hop on this bandwagon. I think this is a fantastic way for all of my readers {old & new} to get to know me a little bit better. If you want to join in, go for it, link your post back here so I can read your answers!! 

a. Age: 24

b. Bed size: Full, I love it because I don't take up much room and it's all to myself.

c. Chore you dislike: Putting away laundry. I don't mind doing it and folding it, but putting away seems to be difficult. I'd much rather just leave it in the baskets and get what I need from there.

d. Dogs: None yet! I want to get a pup when I move out on my own & get married.

e. Essential start to your day: My morning cup of Starbucks usually does the trick. It's the only way I can be pleasant at work and it gives me the fuel I need to get through rough days.

f. Favorite colors: I think if you saw my room you'd know it's pink, but I love purples, greens, and blues as well.

g. Gold or Silver: I like both, but it depends on what I'm wearing. My everyday necklace & ring are both silver, but I like how gold looks on me also.

h. Height: I'm a runt at 5'3.5

i. Instruments you play{ed}: None. I am NOT musically inclined. My dad is great at the keyboard and I've always wanted to learn, but never got the opportunity, maybe one day I'll dust off the yamaha keyboard and have him teach me.

j. Job title: Cardiovascular Tech, pretty soon though I'll be a Medical Assistant!! 

k. Kids: None of my own yet, but I love being an aunt!!

n. Nicknames: I've had a lot over the years. Niks, Snickers, Nickel, and Nikster. I'm sure there are so many others that I can't think of, but these will have to do!

o. Overnight hospital stays: None thank god, only a 4 hour stay in the ER for an allergic reaction to a medication. That was horrible enough, don't think I would want to be admitted for anything, besides childbirth in the future, of course.

p. Pet peeve: Wow, where do I even begin. I've written about my big pet peeves in past posts, so check them out here, here, and here! The jist of it goes over slow drivers in the fast lane, idiot drivers, know it all's, snobs, etc.

s. Siblings: One baby sister, turning 23 on Thursday! 

t. Time you wake up: If I have work then 7am, if I'm off with nothing to do, whenever my body wakes me up. My sleeping in has diminished tremendously, so usually around 9 or 10 am I'm up. 

u. Underwear: Victoria's Secret {hello free panties} and Gilly Hicks.

v. Vegetables you don't like: I usually love a lot of veggies, but the ones I can do without are brussels sprouts, cabbage, eggplant, squash, and asparagus. 

w. What makes you run late: If I feel frazzled or wake up late then the whole chain of events feels off. Or if I have people rushing me, I'm pretty good at getting places on time except if I get lost. 

x. X-rays you've had: Only had x-rays of my teeth, but had a brain MRI early last year.

y. Yummy food you make: I've just recently started to venture into making different foods, usually I'm a baker, but I made a Mediterranean Veggie Wrap that is super easy to make and tastes delicious, plus it's healthy for you! 

All you need:

{} Mini wraps

{} Hummus of your choice

{} Spinach (chopped up}

{} Tomatoes (chopped as well)

{} Cucumbers (also chopped)

{} Extra Virgin Olive Oil (use as a drizzle)

You basically spread the hummus over the entire wrap. Put the spinach, tomatoes, and cucumbers on the wrap, then drizzle with some evoo and fold the bottom and sides. Super easy to make and it's delicious and healthy for you!! 

z. Zoo animal you like: I love the big cats. My favorites are the snow leopards and tigers.

New Year's Eve Recap

Hey blog world! I know I am awfully behind in recapping my NYE night, but because it was in the middle of the week I was thrown for a loop on when to blog about it. Today just seemed like the perfect day to get my recap out. I didn't do anything this weekend except for hanging out at home, responding back to emails, and catching up on some blogging. 

My plans for New Year's Eve was supposed to be heading down to the city and boarding a party bus with 30 of my friends and then going to a friends apartment to ring in the new year with a champagne toast. Everything pretty much went that way, minus the party bus though. The bus company had apparently double-booked and we had to cancel. It sucks that it didn't work out, but we did go to my friends apartment for the night and rang in the new year with all my friends. 

The only downfall of the night was a drunk friend dropping my camera and subsequently breaking it. It sucked, but this means I get a new camera. 

Now I think I will just indulge you all with pictures from my night.

I had an absolute blast that night and plenty of memories made with some amazing friends. I also got to call my guy two times, once for his midnight & the second for mine. I guess that's the perk of living on different time zones, even though it means we couldn't ring it in together, getting to talk to him was awesome enough. Fortunately, my girlfriends were there to be my new years kiss at midnight, I don't know what I would do without them!

Sunday Social {Week 31}

Happy Sunday friends!! I hope you all have been having a great first week of 2013. Today I'm linking up with the lovely ladies, Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social!


1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year? I think the main thing is just keeping track of everything I eat. I will still continue to indulge in my favorite foods {cupcakes, desserts, etc}, however I will be tracking my calories using MyFitnessPal and really trying to curb my appetite for fatty and sugary foods.
2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the holidays? I am the worst person to get advice from as far as working out goes because I do NOT like working out in the least bit. I think my main advice would be do what makes you happy. If eating healthy and working out does that, do it. If sitting at home eating cupcakes and watching Netflix on Saturdays make you happy, do that {however, as a medical professional, this is not the healthiest of habits to do especially multiple times, all about moderation people}. I commend the folks out there who hit the gyms and constantly eat healthy, you guys are motivation for me to get up off my butt, put down the cupcake, and turn off the Netflix.

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the holidays? I think my favorite parts had to do with hanging out with my family and friends. It was great to look back on all the memories made with them this year and many more to come in the future!

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2013 that you did not in 2012?

I think I am looking forward to getting done with school and getting better at blogging this year! I have made some incredible friends through blogging and have learned so many great things, so I can't wait to see what this year brings in the blogging world!

Nail Files {1/4/13}

Happy Friday friends!! It's my first post of the new year and I apologize for the slight hiatus I've been on. It has been a crazy few days from spending the day getting over my hangover to going to work the 3 consecutive days after New Year's Day. Let's just say next year, I will be taking the day after off! I had an absolute blast during New Year's Eve and I will do a whole post on the night a little later. Today I am linking up with my favorite girls Vicki & Tara for the very first Nail Files of 2013! This is my absolute favorite link up to do every single week and can't wait to share my polishes each week with you all!

I did this mani last week, but never got around to posting about it and decided to take a break from painting my nails so far because they have been getting pretty damaged especially with the dark colors I've done. 

Did something a little bit different with the 2 different accent nails, but loved this concept for during the holidays, coordinated well with all the decor and outfits as well!
