Weekending | It's Gonna Be May

Happy Monday lovies! Although it's now May, Chicago weather proved to us that it doesn't care what the calendar says...it was a brisk 40 degrees and rainy/stormy all weekend. To say I'm ready for some more permanent warmth is sooo an understatement!

This weekend was fairly chill around these parts, I did work on and complete my wedding card box (more on that Wednesday!) Besides that a lot of Hallmark movies and some family pizza time!

On Friday, my manager had told me and the other girls that our hospital wanted to use our picture taken at the 1 year celebration of our clinic to be on the annual employee giving campaign. We were definitely honored, but a little intimidated since we are going to be all around the hospital (that's over 2,500 employees!!) Guess I'll be work famous before I leave in a few months lol. Below is the picture that was chosen.

Saturday my parents were working away all day in the garage, cleaning up and getting things organized so by the end of the night my mom didn't want to cook so my dad said let's head to our favorite new pizza place. It was so yummy and much needed!

Sunday was spent working on the card box and watching Hallmark movies before ending the night with The Lone Survivor, I had been wanting to watch this movie for so long now and finally came around to watching it. Such a touching and emotional movie, so proud to be living in the greatest country in the world where we have some amazing people fighting for our freedom!!

Today is going to be slightly somber after work, one of our favorite patients passed away on Friday suddenly and when his wife called over to us I was heart-broken, such a sweet soul that heaven just gained. My coworkers and I are all heading to his funeral service after work today to pay our respects to him and his family. If y'all could pray for his family during this incredibly tough time, it would be much appreciated!

Here's to hoping that those May flowers come very very soon, linking up with Biana!

  5. Oh how sad. I wanted to be in the medical field for YEARS and I'm still not sure why I decided against it some days. But I think one of the reasons is I would get too attached to patients (a la Izzy Stevens! lol).

LOL to being famous at work just as your about to leave! Glad you had a great weekend girlie!

  6. I'm so sorry about the loss of your patient! It's never easy to lose anybody that you're close with! Other than that it sounds like you had a very productive weekend! I can't wait to hear about your card box for the wedding! Lone Survivor was such a good movie, but so tough to watch! I still haven't been able to watch American Sniper yet.
