Monday Musings | Middle of November

Morning loves. How is it seriously the middle of November? I can't believe that next week is Thanksgiving! I finally figured out what I'll be bringing to Thanksgiving dinner, it's a dessert again, but I haven't made it in years so here's to hoping it turns out good! I'll have a recipe for it once I do it (and hopefully successfully).

Anyways, this past weekend I literally took the least amount of pictures possible. On Friday night hubby and I went out to Lupe Tortilla in Sugar Land for our date night dinner. We had plans for another place in the city, but really wanted to go to the movies afterwards so we decided to keep it local and low key. Dinner was excellent, as usual, but then we headed for the movies.

We watched Hacksaw Ridge and guys this movie was so so so good!! I'm not really big into war movies or Mel Gibson truthfully, but y'all this movie was so worth staying up past midnight for. It was a long movie, but you would never feel it because it kept you intrigued and focused on the movie. Andrew Garfield played his role superbly. Definitely recommend watching it, but it is quite gory as Mel Gibson's movies are known to be.

On Saturday I woke up to the cutest snapchat ever...

We didn't do a whole lot on Saturday except bum around and watch college football. It was the perfect day of relaxing at home and not having to do anything. I ran out to grab a card for the bridal shower I was going to, but that was about it.

Sunday morning I woke up bright and early to do the house chores since I was too lazy to do them Saturday. I was shocked at the number of things I had accomplished before noon! All the laundry, sweeping/mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning down the kitchen was complete. I felt like a rockstar and ready to head to my bridal shower. I was very nervous for this bridal shower because I don't know a soul besides the bride and groom. This is one of A's best friend's bride to be and of course we've gotten to know each other, but not as far as to meeting her other friends and family. She has invited me to her bachelorette party in Fredricksburg, TX which I am going to because wine...duh! So I figured this would be perfect to meet some of the other girls who will be going. I'm so glad I went because it was a lot of fun and it was great to meet people who will be at the wedding and her bachelorette party next month.

Can we just talk about all her fun details, whoever planned this did an excellent job in making it such a loving environment. She definite got spoiled with all her gifts too!

P.s. If you can, try to catch the Super Moon out tonight, it's supposed to be the biggest and closest full moon since 1948 and won't be seen again until 2034 (I calculated that I'll be 46 by that time...nuts!!!)

Did y'all have a good weekend? Linking up with Biana for Weekending!

  1. I saw Hacksaw Ridge, too, and REALLY REALLY liked it. But like you said, very gory. I wasn't expecting that! I think it's great you went to the shower. I actually met my best friend at a bachelorette party. I only knew the bride, as did she, and we immediately bonded and have been close since!

  3. It is scary to go to parties that you don't really know anybody, but it sounds like it was well worth it! And yes to Bachelorette Parties, especially in wine country! Y'all are going to have such a great time! I haven't been to Lupe's in forever, but now I'm officially craving it! Just give me all the margaritas and fajitas!

  6. What a beautiful shower, and now I'm starving - all that food looks so good. Wasn't the Super Moon amazing? I came up on it as I was driving over a bridge last night, and it was awesome!
