Books on Books on Books

So we've made it half way through the week, here's to hoping the other half go by just as quickly!

 

Let's talk about books, I used to be such a bookworm when I was younger, reading through all the Baby-sitter's club books and hoping/praying for more to come out. I still have some of my BSC books, I wanted to get in on their fan club, but my parents were pretty rude about not letting me. In hindsight I'm glad I was never an official member of the babysitter's club fan club. Ok enough on that tangent, so I think there were more incentives back in the day to read. You guys remember the book it program?! We got some sweet prizes, like a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut and at the end of the school year I even got a free trip for 4 to Six Flags Great America!! I would spend hours upon hours (hello no friends much) just reading the days away. I have always prided myself on being a very fast reader, getting through books in a day or two, yes, major nerd alert.

 

I think the idealization of the Internet has really steered people away from reading and I am one of those people. I would now much rather watch TV, Netflix, Hulu, you name it. I made one of my goals on my 101 in 1001 list to read at least 20 books. I totally think this is a realistic goal and really hope I can achieve it. I loooove reading celebrity autobiographies, but have found some other really great books! I'm always on the search for some great reads, so recommend away. Also I recently (I know!) joined Goodreads and if you're on it I'd love to be your friend!

 

Recently, I finished reading both books written by RHWOBH Brandi Glanville. If you like a blunt personality with no filter and hilarious tales of her ex-husband's (Eddie Cibrian) infidelity, then read these. I think she is a refreshing voice and it's rare to find someone as open as she is. In her second book she talks about getting back into the dating scene and although it kills me that she didn't list the names of the famous people she dated (I tried figuring it out and struck out, so if you read and know please share), but that was decent of her not to air the names out there.

 

              

 

 



 Another favorite book that I'm currently in the middle of and completely enthralled with is written by a fellow blogger!! Joey who blogs at Hodges Podges, her blog is as awesome as her book. I can't wait to finish it and you should definitely grab it off Amazon and read your little heart away and show a blogger some love!
