Weekending

Hey guys! So today is probably the worst of the Mondays because we lost an hour of sleep...nothing like getting up even earlier to get to work on a Monday....le sigh. My body hasn't quite adjusted to the time change and may take a full week to do so. Anywhoodles...let's get onto recapping the weekend.  I had a pretty eventful weekend considering I got dressed in normal clothes and out of the house, plus the weather was gorgeous!!!

Friday

I went to meet my girls up for a quick bite before our old high school put on a musical for Into the Woods. I thought it was really well done and am proud to say the musicals are still as good as they were back when I was there almost 10 flippin years ago. It was fun to be back at the high school and see how everything had changed in the years since graduation.

This is the best picture I could get, the set design was really spectacular too for a high school production.

Afterwards we met up some more friends at a new brewery that opened up. This place was really awesome, the food and drinks were amazing along with the delicious desserts we got. I'll let the yummy pictures do the talking.

Buffalo chicken flatbread

Mojito...yumm!

Chocolate brownie, creme brulee, raspberry sorbet
I'm not sure if Granite City Brewery is a franchise, but if it's in your area, I highly recommend checking it out.

Saturday

I laid around in the morning just doing some laundry and catching up on shows, but late afternoon I got dressed and headed to my coworker/friend's little girl's 1st birthday party. It was a ton of fun, with yummy food of course. The theme was Frozen and they had face painting and a balloon making lady there. I have to say, balloon animals have gotten much more intricate since when I was young.

My outfit (excuse the dirty mirror and unmade bed)

Beautiful dessert table with the incredible Elsa cake

Balloon Elsa, so cute

 Sunday

The time change knocked me and my friend for a loop when we had to wake up and drive an hour to her hair/makeup trial for her wedding later this summer. We got confused with times and ended up there an hour earlier. That did give us a chance to just catch up over coffee across the street from the salon.

My friend (who's getting married in July) got flaked on by her hair/makeup girl that she had already given a deposit and signed a contract with, but the girl got a better offer and ditched her. I'm kind of glad that happened because the girl she has now is a real professional and did an incredible job on her hair and makeup (in less than 2 hours mind you).

Gorgeous low braided bun.

Isn't my bestie going to make the prettiest bride?! She brought her jewelry with to see how the whole face part would look and I'd say it's a perfect wedding look.

After the trial, I headed home to rest/nap the rest of the Sunday away. I also started watching a new Netflix series produced by Tina Fey called Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you haven't started already, get to your TV and start this series up. If you liked 30 Rock at all this has a similar vibe especially with Jane Krakowski in this series as well. I really like Ellee Kemper's character in this, she is the perfect actress for the role.

Not before making this amazing sandwich. It's actually a very popular street sandwich in India called a grilled Bombay sandwich. I found a super easy recipe online and made it, look out for the easy and tasty recipe tomorrow!

How was everyone's weekends? Linking up with Biana for weekending.

  1. So glad to hear you're a fan of the new netflix series too - it's too cute!! I love how your friends hair turned out - crazy that the original vendor would flake like that and not professional in the least!! Hope you have a great start to your week! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
