Younger Nikki

Look at that youngin, unaware of the world that would be. Life was so much simpler back then.

Dear younger Nikki,

Hey there you cute chubster (p.s. that baby chub doesn't ever really go away, deal with it). Look at you rocking that outfit, your fashion sense does tend to get better as you get older so that's a plus. Unfortunately, your hair is not as cute as it is in that picture, the curls are still there, but add in a fro and frizz, sorry. So I guess I'm supposed to give you some sort of advice on how to live life to the fullest or something like that, but to tell you the truth I have no clue what I'm doing. Sometimes life gets hard and you will have to deal with that as it comes, good thing is you adapt very well to change. Sure you deal with some bullies and haters in your life, but don't sweat it, you have a pretty amazing group of friends and family who love you unconditionally. Boys will definitely come and go, watch yourself in your early 20's you seem to have had a bit too much fun there, but you still seem to have a great head on your shoulders (minus the whole hair ordeal). Be patient when it comes to finding your Prince Charming, he will be found I can promise you that, he may have just gotten lost a bit and because he's a man, he didn't ask for directions. Take every opportunity you get in life, you will not only better yourself, but better your understanding of life.

Most of all, enjoy your time with your family, there really is nobody like them. Sure there are those people that you really don't care for (yes even as a child you knew who they were), but they are still family unfortunately. Create memories and build friendships with your cousins because those are your partners in crime no matter what (they still are too). Tell mom to quit cutting your hair, that's probably why I have the mop I have on my head now, but let your locks grow long and beautiful don't let her chop it. Also retire that B.U.M equipment hoodie you wore the crap out of, oversized and baggy won't do anything for you in the boy department. As long as you enjoy life and stay a strong willed girl, you will turn out to be a pretty awesome adult, even with your flaws, it's what makes you unique and special, at least that's what mom keeps telling me.

p.s. listen and love your mom unconditionally, she seriously is the best friend you could ever ask for. She gives some pretty great advice, but can be a pain sometimes too...double edge sword I guess.

Love,
Adult (kinda) Nikki
