Sunday Social {Week 29}

Yay it's Sunday and I couldn't be happier since I'm off of work for the next 3 days for Christmas!!  I cannot wait for all the excitement that Christmas Eve & day holds this year. I am spending Christmas Eve with all my cousins and we are baking goodies, swapping gifts and watching Christmas movies galore! On Christmas day I think everyone is coming over to our house for dinner and it will be nice to just hang around with family all day. Before all of that excitement, I'm joining Neely and Ashley for the 29th week of Sunday Social!! 


1. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? I'm a sucker for mint chocolate chip or anything with Oreos in them!

2. What is your favorite smell?

I adore Burberry Brit & Viva La Juicy as far as perfumes go, but for like candles and hand lotions I am a sucker for anything vanilla scented!

3. What is your favorite TV commercial {past or present}?

I am a HUGE Chicago Bulls fan and just a fan of Derrick Rose so when he had his injury last season it was horrible to think of the Bulls without their MVP, but this commercial gave me chills the first time I saw it and whenever the Bulls lose a game I just watch this and it restores hope in #thereturn!!!

Chills I tell ya!

4. What is your favorite day of the week?

I think Saturdays because I never work and it's my definite sleep in day. Plus there is always something happening or things that need to be done that makes for a great Saturday. 

5. What is your favorite way to waste time?

PINTEREST!! I don't know if this is "wasted time" because I am simply just doing research and finding material to make my friends laugh at, I call that work! 

6. What is your favorite article of clothing?

This one is definitely hard because I love a lot of my clothes. I attach sentiment to each and every item I own, but if I had to pick something I wear wayy more than the others, it would be my VS Pink pull over. I am living in it during the winter, but I do have other favorites like dresses, jeans, yoga pants, etc.

Nail Files {12/21/12}

Happy last day of the world friends! I jokes, hopefully the world doesn't end I have gifts that need to be unwrapped and I'm patiently waiting until Christmas Eve to tear into them. Moving on, today I am linking up with the usual ladies, Vicki and Tara for Nail Files!

I am in love with my nails this week, they remind me of sugarplums and fairy dust. I need to get some better practice on doing sparkly tips, but I think they turned out pretty well for my first time around. I just picked up this beautiful color from Sephora for only $5!! It's Sephora by OPI in Betsey and I love how it only takes one coat to get the perfect opaque look! I then used the F21 love & color in a purple multi-color sparkle.

Secret Santa Reveal!

Happy Thursday friends! I have been dying to do this post and share with the blogging world what my Secret Santa got me, and to figure out who it is so I can send a thank you card! I'm sure you all have been seeing this floating around the blogosphere and I think it's wonderful what we as a blogging community can accomplish. I'm saddened at what happened at that elementary school in CT and cannot imagine the devastation that the town and country is going through during this tough time. Let's do our part! 

To the Blog World and Anyone Else who Wants to Help,

Yesterday, tragedy struck so many of us in ways we did not foresee. An elementary school and small town in Connecticut was shattered by a mass shooting. We knew we wanted to help. As a side note, I would like to take this time to thank Neely and Michelle for helping organize and be so quick to come together and think of something that we could do as a blogging community. After some planning, we came up with this:

On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence. We will post the button and that's it. Please try to not post anything else that day if possible.

 We are also raising money that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services. Here is the official description of the support service we are donating to: 

"Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.

Nail Files {12/14/12}

Happy Friday loves! I'm linking up with Vicki and Tara for some Nail Files Friday.

This week I was sporting a holiday look since Christmas is just around the corner. I also added a little pop of glitter as an accent nail.

On my nails I'm sporting Essie's She's Pampered which is part of their 2012 Holiday colors and on the accent nail I'm wearing Nailtini in Millionaire. I think the mix of reds and golds is perfect for the holidays and it looks like a little ornament on my fingers! 

I also want to talk a bit about the tragedy that happened today in CT at the elementary school. I am sickened that there are people out there in this world who could so freely shoot innocent children at school, 20 innocent children! I cannot begin to imagine how the families of the victims are dealing with this and especially it being right around the holidays. I hope this is the wake up call that our government needs to put some stricter rules on gun control and who can and cannot bear arms. Of course the coward had to shoot him/herself after shooting 26 people, why not just kill yourself and leave the innocent out of it. After reading the CNN articles, it looks like the suspect/shooter was the child of a teacher at the school and she was the target of the shooting, so why were these 20 innocent children and 6 other adults shot?! Ok, my rant is over, but my thoughts and prayers are with the parents and families of these innocent victims who so tragically lost their lives going to an assumed "safe place", guess there is no such thing as a safe place anymore!
